The six-month visit, and the first visit back after a much longer gap than that.
A routine visit is an exam, a cleaning, and usually x-rays depending on how long it has been and what the dentist can see. It ends with a picture of what is going on and, if anything needs attention, a plan. You do not have to agree to that plan in the chair. Asking to take it home and read it is normal.
If it has been years, the visit may be longer and the cleaning may be split across appointments, particularly if there is gum inflammation to deal with first. That is a scheduling fact, not a judgment. Say on the phone roughly how long it has been so the practice books enough time rather than discovering it halfway through.
